The wait is over! Here are the winning entries from our recent library writing competition. All entrants were given this opening line to get them started: ‘CRACK! BANG!’ went lightning on a stormy night. 

Category 1 : 7-8 years

• Jessie, aged 8, 1st place – 'The Clock Struck Midnight'
• Tilda, aged 8,  2nd place – ‘Cat-Catastrophe!'

Category 2 : 9-10 years

• Etta, aged 10, 1st place – ‘The Young Witch’
• Audrey, aged 10, 2nd place – ‘I am Zaya’

Category 3 : 11-13 years

• Agnes, aged 12, 1st place – ‘The Dome’
• Charlie, aged 12, 2nd place – ‘Strange Weather'
