February Reviews from St Kilda Library

Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer, review by Jaxon

It's basically about this kids whose a criminal mastermind and also a genius. He found out about the fairy world, which is about three inches away from the core of the earth. Think about the strongest man in the world, then times that a hundred times. That is the strength of  Butler. He's trained in martial arts and his favourite weapon is a semi-automatic machine gun. The main bad guy of the book is Abbot. He's a demon. Then there's an imp who is half human half warlock, and a lot of necessary mud rolling. Artemis travels through time and arrives three year off the mark...

Rated: 5/5 Reallys "I've read the whole series and am going to read his new one next"

Old Tom at the Beach by Leigh Hobbs, review by Nicholas

At the start the owner of Old Tom goes to the beach and he goes too far out to sea. He goes past a friendly mermaid and his pants come off! Then he gets hooked by a pirate ship, and the captain is called Perky the Pirate. Then he falls off the ship and a friendly whale uses his blowhole to send him to shore and he lands right next to his owner lying in the sun.

Rated: 4.4/5 Reallys "This was the right level for me (7), and it was very interesting. There is more to the story but I don't want to ruin it."

After that week, he helps someone with their project because that person was really good at phones. In the end they become buddies. That was his first friend. Then there is a girl called Summer. He gets bullied by this rich boy Gillian. Auggie receives an award for being a kind person.
