City of Bones: The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, review by Jaxon

It has a little bit of romance in it but not much. It's about a 'mundane,' a human girl called Clary. One day a demon is waiting for her in her house. It's a huge ravener demon, it looks a bit like a caterpillar with poisonous jaws. It attacks her and she manages to kill it and it turns into black acid, but not before it bites her. Because she has been poisoned, she is taken to the Institute's infirmary. There she meets Isobel and Jace, the want to be loved by everybody and then break their hearts guy. There's a mortal cup which can turn people into shadowhunters, -if they survive it. The cup was supposed to be destroyed by Valentine's wife, but was it...
