Cover - Link opens in a new windowStan had a normal life, until his parents died.He lives with his aunt and uncle. He runs away from his life and joins the visiting carnival, where he meets a performer, the famous  piranha taming Pancho Pirelli. If Stan wants to be a performer as well, he needs to swim in a tub of piranhas. Will he be brave enough to do this?

Rated 4/5: "The story was very exciting. I didn't know whether he would get bitten or killed. "

The World's Worst Children 2This is the follow up book to The World's Worst Children. There are ten stories in the book and I will discuss only one of them. It is about a boy, who is a spoilt brat. He thinks everyday is his birthday. He wants presents and cake, and bursts into tears when he thinks there is no cake. He then  dives into a cake that is bigger than a building and dies. He couldn't come up for air.

Rated 5/5: " I liked how he died in a cake. This would have to be the best way to die! "

Cover - Link opens in a new windowA little girl's next door neighbours hunt and are killing deer for fun. She doesn't like this. She gets mad one day when she finds them killing birds. She discovers she has a magic finger("rude finger') and is able to turn the whole family into birds.

Rated 4/5: "It's was great when the neighbours were turned into birds and lost their arms and grew wings."

The 13-Storey TreehouseOnce upon a time here were two boys, Andy and Terry, who are trying to finish writing their book on time. They live in the treehouse with their friend Jill. It has a bowling alley, swimming pool, man eating shark tank and more! Terry falls in love with a mermaid, who turns into a sea monster and eats him for supper.

Rated 5/5: "I like how the book uses mixed-up words and the illustrations. I like the shark tank because sharks are mental! This is the first book in the Treehouse series, but I  don't think it is as good as the latest one, I've just read, which is The 91-Storey Treehouse. "

The Boxtrolls by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel, Reviewed by Cole (Age 9).

A human named Eggs, is abandoned by his father at seven months and is raised by trash collecting "Boxtrolls". They become friends and play and build stuff together.

Rated 100/5: " I like how the trolls live in the sewers and come out at night to find and use thrown out things to make inventions. This is one of the best books I've read."
