Reviews from Albert Park for July

This book is about a white brumby named Thowra and his life in the Snowy Mountains. It goes through his whole life cycle. Thowra grows up and gets his own herd. He steals a mare from another herd – she is white too. There are tales and myths about the silver brumby (which is Thowra). Thowra has two enemies – man and another stallion. Gets chased but escapes from the men who are after him.

Rated:  5/5 – "Interesting, intriguing – I love it because it’s about horses."

Harry, Ron and Hermione think everything is fine after their last adventure. The chamber is found wide open and Harry and his friends try to figure out who did it, especially as people are getting petrified – including Hermoine with a mysterious letter in her hand. Harry also finds a diary and through this figures out that a serpent is haunting the school.

Rated: 5/5 – it’s awesome!

Now by Morris Gleitzman - reviewed by Alex

This is a series set around the second world war. Felix is the main character through all of the books. This book is about his granddaughter Zelda.  Zelda family are doctors and she boasts about this, this gets bullied for this. It’s a really good book, but you have to read the first two books in the series or it won’t make sense.

Rated:  5/5 – "Morris Gleitzman is a good writer and I like the way he puts fiction and non-fiction together."

Bungawitta is a dried up land with hardly any people left on earth.  It’s really hot there.  Glory Alice the main character is bossy and boasty and she blames the heat on the weatherman. The town decide to have a festival – and an ABC team is supposed to come there to film it.  The filmcrew turn up late and for the first time in 7 years it pours with rain and washes the sculptures (that were built for the festival) away.

Rated:  5/5 - "Interesting!"

Clementine Rose is thrilled because there is a wedding on in the gardens of her house ‘Penberthy House’. The wedding will help with repairs for the house, unfortunately her Uncle Bill falls ill before the wedding and her Auntie is left in charge of organising it.

Rated:  5/5 – "It’s like Alice-Miranda (by the same author) which I liked!"
